I’m aware. Like I said, it was still very clear what needed doing on the day, on account of what would happen if Leave won. You can amend your relationship and indeed the institution itself, if you’re in the relationship. Everyone can talk about the complexities and nuances until kingdom come, but for the matter of the actual vote on the day, it’s obfuscation. It’s excusing yourself. It’s allowing the worst because preventing that was ‘complicated’ and ‘didn’t win me over’.
You don’t have to be pro-EU as it is, just agree that it’s better than Brexit, even if that’s ALL you can accept. But that’s too much to ask? This wasn’t a general election. Least-worst/damage control was enough of a call, and attempting to intensely polarise it is part of why we ended up here. The least worst was WAY less worse, considering the realities of international relations, and much moreover - crucially - that the worst stood for even worse than what it was in itself. I do not understand checking out.
And I don’t really understand Brexit handwringing over JDB not! voting!! Where is the bar for this band these days? What do we expect or hold them to? What could they do that would pull you up short? It’s funny that they’re the ones who made me have an apparently high standard for them.
EDIT: I don’t mean to sound hostile AT anyone, I am just VEXED
