Continuing the pattern set with International Blue and Orwellian (plus It's Not War and Show Me the Wonder to an extent), they started this era with a single that I found genuinely embarrassing and cheesy, but then at least peppered the second half of the album with a handful of songs that I liked enough that I wouldn't mind hearing live (which I admit is a bit of a low bar).

Overall pretty average and sounding like the same mode as the last few albums: samey songs with predictable changes and fills, a few highlights and some completely forgettable and bland moments. It amuses me that Nicky said this album was tough to make because it sounds once again like they rolled out of bed on autopilot and wrote and recorded it in a couple of days.

100%

It’s obvoius they can’t/don’t bother to write TUNES that much anymore.
A few good songs that would have worked as album fillers 15+ years ago.
