what bothers me most about Dear Stephen is, why the paraphrase? why not delivery the whole "it takes guts to be gentle and kind" line? then "to paraphrase one of your heartbreak lines" grinds as well - why not "heartbreaking" lines? that double whammy of irritations does the song in for me.
