Thought this myself , seems the Sabrina Carpenter record is the main threat. That being said, Critical thinking is still number 1 on the ITunes chart and 2nd on Amazon physical sales. I imagine a large amount will be through their own website anyway , plus 2000 on blood records.

Hopefully they get another #1

Maybe it wouldn’t. People playing the demo is possibly don’t count towards the playing of the proper songs, and you end up losing out on the money. It might make more sense commercially to keep the demos for the physical release.

Was just about to say the same! Feels more ‘live’, less compressed & still has motion.

BOR demo is def what they used for the teaser snippet before release, & is lovely too. Up to PRP in my listen now, & it’s feeling like this demo disc could almost be an actual ‘Alt Takes’ album rather than just lesser produced carbon copies of the album tracks.

I'm going to let the album sit with me for another week or two and then play the demo CD a few times, just so I can really hear the differences and appreciate them. I did that with TULV and I'm glad I did it that way.

Shocked by how great this album is. Liked Hiding in Plain Sight, Decline & Fall and People Ruin Paintings already, but Critical Thinking, Dear Stephen, Being Baptized, My Brave Friend, OneManMilitia, Late Day Peaks are really all standing out to me so far.
