RiF was streamed by Amazon music briefly a week or two before release.

Killing momentum this.

Decline and Fall was released in August wasn’t it? I know albums are released a few months after the lead single but that was last summer, we’ve had two album release delays taking us well into winter, and by the time it comes out we’d have heard a third of the album.

Excitement is pretty much gone from my side now.

I remember it really well. I managed to rip the audio by recording the soundcard output onto another device. I was really excited when I heard People Give In the first time but I've gone off it now.

Appeal to keep the faith! I know you think I'm a bootlicker. I just want a new Manics album that's quite good at minimum. The three songs I've heard (especially PRP) are pointing towards an interesting album. Record company politics diverting vinyl supplies maybe.
These sentences deleted because nah, that's low for me.
We're getting the album in a few weeks. We're so close. I know, Bandcamp would have sorted it by now.
Ah but what cost my wants? Full on Twilight Zone fallout shelter mask slipping.
Actually no, I don't wear masks. Offensive things said in interviews that question your stance and love for the band? Yes, that is tough. But that lad's never done a day's work in ages so was naturally going to talk shite!

Bit annoying with another delay for the album. I wonder because they finished recording it last February which is nearly a full year since, if they're working on new stuff for another album now?

Even more than a decent album, I'm really hoping that they do some appearances now around the release of it. I always enjoy the xfm or abolsute radio or whatever other stuff they sometimes do.

I have not pre-ordered so this is a legit question with zero subtext; are they sending out emails to let folk that pre-ordered know about these delays?

Yes. The email about BOR today also had info about the move date to 14th Feb.

Kiwis and friends will be able to listen in full on Thursday afternoon

Where are the Radiohead lads these days? If anyone remembers that...
Two pages and this isn't discussed. I think it's amazing. Imagine if EMG or TIMTTMY even KYE if we'd have gotten four singles before the album released?
And not read emails yet but saw others saying it's been delayed.

This is either a brilliant marketing campaign designed to get everyone hyped up for the album when it does finally come out.......or an absolute fucking shambles. Guess we'll have ro wait and see how well it does before we decide?

New song sounds great on that snippet though. So far one single I was ambivilant about at first but its grown on me, two I've loved straight away, plus snippets of three songs that all sound pretty cool. I suspect I'm going to like this album.....if it ever gets released!

Everyone who pre-ordered getting an email on the same day sounds like mass communication has once again been achieved, in a way. Unless hardly anyone pre-ordered I guess. What is the lower limit for a mass?

Speaking of masses…

‘The records were founded on the principle that, uh, the primary role of release dates are to protect the chart position, from obscurity, uh, and so it remains…’

Hello it’s us again
Or well, it will be soon
And yes we mean it too
Yes we will be with you soon

Hello it’s us again
Production issues reared their heads
But have another song instead
Enjoy it over The Weeknd!

The pre-orders against shop-marauders
I’m tired of giving release dates
When it’ll take however long that it takes
We love the printers
They stick our records together

So can you hear us anymore
(JDB, Wire and Sean Moore)
It won’t be long before a tour
Delayed release twice, kind of poor
Hello and isn’t vinyl dear?
One’s red, one’s black and one is clear
Our press is unpolitical
Our crisps are ours to feed upon

[….]

‘The date begins at the end of January and ends as a February sounnnnnd….’

I'm pretty sure I posted here about MGMT releasing four singles before Loss of Life.
I'm thinking this is the future of Manic album releases for sure!
Edit: Sorry Porco overshadow!
