where did the 'Pie thing' come from?
I was wondering why are we all laughing because of James' love to pies. was there any interview? or maybe it used to be a private fans joke that enlarged to the uncontrolled size? I want to know the origins

In Britain, there's an age old insult where someone who's a bit tubby might be accused of 'eating all the pies'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who_Ate_All_the_Pies%3F
Not sure if there's anything more to it than that.

That and this interview I've heard made the pie jokes a little worse.

there was a cookery programme on the telly last year where two celeb chefs were going up and down the country looking for the best pies. The whole time all i could think of was James

Because he got quite chubby up and around the time of KYE.

He said after the Lipstick Traces HMV signings that Nicky was the one who was good at talking to fans, whilst he (James) tended to drift off and dream about shepherds' pie for tea.
Of course, the pie thing was already going at that time, this just reinforced it. Also. shepherds' pie isn't really pie.

And it's not made of shepherds either.

I'm not really sure but it could be a pun on the way Nicky looks on the cover (emulating the androgynous Brett Anderson style- "mincing") as well as the Christmas season. Or just a really random lazy Christmas sentence.

He is not FAT! Take that back Lopaz! (Ok, a wee bit chubby occasionally!)
