Times change, if it isn't viable maybe it's for the best.

Nooo I love that shop. This is what filesharing and buying CDs from supermarkets does to small businesses. Makes me angry.

Well that and the fact that the rent on the Spillers shop went up by a stupid amount making it almost impossible to carry on making a profit.

Maybe they'll have a massive sale.
I mean, nooooooooo. Seriously though, that's a shame. Birmingham's finest record shop (Tempest) closed recently - sad times. |

Of all the years going up Brum I've never noticed that, is that some record shop the side of Tesco in New Street still around?

Yeah Swordfish is still there I think, shame all they ever do is stand around talking about Led Zeppelin. They could be helping to promote Birmingham's music scene but they'd rather just concentrate on bands who were in their prime 30+ years ago.

Tempest was one of the best record shops in the UK, I will miss it so.
Guy who runs the punk floor is opening a store in the Oasis Market though so I can still buy my vinyl there |

James and co should go in and sign everything.

I suppose that is the downside of the regeneration of Cardiff. I always go into Spillers when I'm in town. Sad times
