Oh, my hopes of a private show are dashed!
Welcome to FD! I'm thinking of heading there around sound check time? (5ish?) My hotel isn't too far away so I figure I can go back and forth if there's no queue. Do people queue in Australia? I'm loving how small this show is looking!

People do queue, but I can't gauge if people queue for manics! haha.
As for this Adelaide gig - The venue only holds about 1000 people and it isn't selling very well according to reports, and then in this weeks newsletter from the ticket agency they announced $10 off MSP tix. They were the cheapest of the tour here already, only $50 something, so that now means you can see the f**king Manic Street Preachers for $40! That alone blows my mind. I was thinking of heading down around that time, 5ish. But I might be in the city earlier and check the venue to see what is going on. Also I am a photographer, and there is a chance I may get a photo pass for this gig. Which would be great, get to shoot them from down the front, but at the same time - I want my spot on the barrier to watch the gig. Dilema! Have to wait and see what happens I guess. |

Has been, but it looks like it'll clear up a bit towards the end of the week. (I'm sure you'll get a proper Adelaide summer pan-frying . . . )

Now of course if the band's security aren't happy they'll tell you to put it away. but there's a "best of both world's" for you... |

That would be awesome! Better than the barrier, surely!
This is the one I'm going to try for the barrier too. I can't believe the tickets are only 40 bucks!!!!

It would be good. But after the first three songs (which you are working for) you have to leave the pit, and find a place to watch the gig - which wont be the barrier by that point

Yeah, It has been cool but my partner got burned on sunday when we were outside for a while. So don't be fooled. Fingers crossed it will be a lovely day for a manics gig.

Thankyou for the weather update. The Manics usually tour in the winter so we are used to queing in the wind and rain!!!
Really looking forward to seeing Adelaide, it looks so beautiful and they say the Oval is one of the prettiest cricket grounds in the world. I'm also hoping to go horse riding while there so i should see some surrounding countyside. I am sorry i'm missing the boys while they are there, hope you all have a brilliant time, i'm sure you will.

I don't think the band would have any problem, it's normally the venue that provides security, at least over here...
