I actually thought you hadn't got a thread for this and was going to make one!
And then I thought it was a day later and the gig had happened so was surprised no set list or photographs! |

Don't care about the rest of the line-up, but I am massively, massively JEALOUS of Idlewild followed by the Manics on the same stage. My two favourite bands and I'm not there

New Model Army! Cool. Also, no timings seem to be anywhere, but as headliners the Manics will probably be on a bit later?

Aww Manics watching Idlewild from the side of the stage and Roddy dedicated Love Steals Us From Loneliness to them and mentioned Idlewild toured with them in '99.
Edit: Aw loved that! For those that didn't watch we got Motorcycle, Walk Me To the Bridge, Your Love Alone, You Stole the Sun, Suicide is Painless, From Despair to Where and Tolerate. Annoyingly you could hear ADFL in the background whilst the presenters were wrapping the show up! Nice to see them (and Idlewild) on TV anyway and can't wait for Blackheath now. Oh and James looked loooovely Last edited by Abstract Unknown Girl; 07-08-2015 at 22:06. |

Nicky looked like the most unimpressed Idlewild fan ever at one point! Wonder if the gushing displays of mutual admiration were hints at a joint tour next year for the EMG tour which James didn't exactly deny.

iPlayer link (video not available as I post this, but shouldn't be too long hopefully).
Edit: video now active. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06503ws If you find that link doesn't work (like me): http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...reet-preachers JDB interview at 1:07:00 followed by gig highlights. And then later at 1:42:00ish

Partying like it's 1993 for three straight songs there.

And it might have been the sound mixing, but the audience was flat to the intro of one of those 1993 songs!
I think "Second album" might have lost them, but if James had said that on the last tour (Which he probably did) the place would have exploded! The things you do for BBC coverage of your charity walk, eh Manics? Great to see "Walk Me To The Bridge" staying in the set. |
