Everything Must Go 20th Anniversary Boxset
It just came up on my facebook, but it goes to a dead link. Typical My play, but from pictures it appears to be 4 discs, a vinyl, and a book.
Thoughts? |

1. No idea what they will stuff onto those discs that the majority hasn't heard.
2. I bet that Everything Live will only be available as part of that box. 3. I hope it looks as great as the last two boxes, THB and GT boxes are lush. 4. I know I'll end up buying the damned thing, anyway. 5. I have no doubt that it really is quite a redundant thing, as EMG really doesn't need another remaster and the 10th anniversary has everything, or just about. 6. The remaster is going to be really, really, really loud if nothing else.

Just worked out the last two discs are the vinyl.
I love the idea of them doing album, then b-sides from each single over two discs. It's probably going to be the remixes (I'd love to have unreleased early version) for the extra Kevin Carter. No idea where the gig on disc 3 is from. Would I buy it? I'd like to. I'd certainly enter every competition going for it! |

It's a bit cheeky that there's a vinyl included in this when there was that Music On Vinyl repressing a few years ago that's still readily available. Saying that, they've released the repressing of Holy Bible separately since the box set came out.. Struggling to think what'll be put on it.. I don't think the cassette b-sides are on 10th anniversary? Maybe they'll chuck a load of remixes on it. Wouldn't expect there'll be any songs that never saw the light of day, or even the 10th anniversary.. I really have no idea how they're gonna bulk this one out but I'll get it anyway.

Think that link went up earlier due to a FB mess up.
If you notice, the link to Amazon didn't work and it would be a weird time to make an anouncement. Typically stuff like this gets announced dead on 09:00 or 10:00 (computers need to be set exact deadlines) and either on a Friday or a Monday, so I'm guessing that link will pop up tomorrow. But I'm still going to be checking Everything manics related every three and a half minutes anyway.

£50 is about what I was expecting to be fair. Good that Everything Live is on there, good that all the b-sides are on there too. Still a bit put out that the Generation Terrorists one doesn't have the live Stay Beautiful from the Love's Sweet Exile 12" and Holy Bible doesn't have the live Life Becoming A Landslide and Love's Sweet Exile from the Revol 10", feel like I'm being a bit nitpicky there... the National Treasures box set is silly though, wouldn't have hurt to stick the cd2 and cassette b-sides on it. Stupid label.

The 2-disc version has a Nynex live album as opposed to the DVD.

I didn't get the THB20 box, but I may well get this one, especially if the Nynex gig is included (not just "Everything Live" but the entire thing, it appears). Even if the vinyl will go completely unplayed (I don't own a turntable and I've made my opinion on the format clear before)

Bought it already. Weak.
EDIT: Though the complete Nynex DVD and audio, as well as the Documentary (however short it is) actually make it a better purchase than the Holy Bible reissue. Last edited by Europa Gluten Free; 10-03-2016 at 10:36. |

I was expecting the £50 price tag but the £8 courier delivery????
It is a birthday present to myself though.

I'm weak and just ordered this. Set looks nice, but the shipping charge took me a back and almost stopped me ordering.
Is it true the standard release seems to have a CD version of the 1997 gig on it, or is it likely to possibly be a mistake on the listing?

No mistake, they advertise it as a live album and have removed the SSO intro from the track listing to fit it on a single CD.

Ditto. I don't need the vinyl or the CD, but I have to have it.
