Where Will Autumnsong Chart?

So, just for fun, where do we think Autumnsong will chart? Some seem to think it's a great choice for single having got good reactions at live gigs, personally I think it'll rate as a disappointing song for many non-fans who liked (and bought) YLAINE, but I could be wrong.

I reckon the fan-base and people who miss classic Guns 'N' Roses will make it hit the top 10, and then it'll nosedive - what do you lot think?

I'm predicting top 20 in the downloads chart, and number 5 in the combined charts.

There are no prizes for guessing correctly, just a smug sense of satisfaction.

probably

probably not very highly. The initial excitement of the reslease of a new album has passed and hence, as always the second single wont get anywhere near the first one.

Also i predict a Send Away The Tigers backlash in the near future when, inevitavbly Nicky starts slagging it off as he has done with every album since TIMTTMY after initially saying how great it is.

thats the way of the world.

i like the album though

I think top 30 for downloads and then top 10 for combined. I don't think that it has enough promotion to attract the non-fanbase like YLAINE did.

Top 10 pretty certainly, already because of the fanbase - just like TLORN and Empty Souls managed to grab the #2 slots. How long it's gonna be there? Now that's the real question.

the frustrating thing is that if the record company actually promoted the single like they do for all those other "pop" bands, then it would easily get to #1, in fact if the record company had always done that, then they potentially could have had the best part of 10 #1s.

I genuinely think its good enough to get to #1, but in reality maybe somewhere between 5 and 7...

I think it'll do a lot better than the majority of you are expecting. It'll depend at least partially on which video is shown more (the second one would almost certainly perform better), but it's a far better (and slightly more mainstream) song than YLAINE and should do almost as well.

YLAINE had no radio 1 play either - plus, AS is pretty much on the same playlists as the previous single - XFM, Capital, BRMB, Power FM and a few other commercial stations R2 and 6 Music.

It will get higher than 30, but I don't see it being around as long or getting as high as YLAINE.

Chart peak at 8, 6 weeks in the chart. Not quite as good as YLAINE but a better performance than most of their other singles released this decade.

I haven't heard or seen it once so I'm not too optimistic. However, I don't listen to the radio much, nor do I have any music channels, so I'm not really the best person to ask.

How on earth can you be predicting so low?

Nixon went in at no 2, and how unfriendly a song was that?

Top 5, knowing how many the Manics sell.

Don't all formats count as a single, only takes about 5,000 to buy all three and it goes top 20.

Which is how most Manics singles have gone in the past few years.
