The Forever Delayed DVD

With the advent of high resolution TV and all that, does anyone else think that it's time that the Forever Delayed DVD was remastered and made into high definition? I watched this for the first time in ages yesterday and thought it seemed kind of fuzzy and unclear compared to TV these days.

Not really bothered if I'm honest. Maybe the Blu-Ray bandwagon has passed the band by?
Or maybe they don't want to fleece their fans for more money again?

I doubt there's copies of the videos that have a high enough of definition to make it "high definition". Have any of the videos been played on a HD music channel or anything?

Surely not passed Seanus by?

It does seem that remastering video that was shot pre-HD is an expensive process, and Sony probably wouldn't be interested unless they were a big global band.

If they release a new video of some sort then you really would want the Blu-ray option, and I'd want that from No Manifesto. The BRMC Live DVD that was released recently was shot mainly in 2007 so I did want the Blu-ray option for that, though the self-released aspect probably didn't help there.

If they'd released a number of DVDs, probably with a similar theme, then I'd like a Blu-ray release to compile them, but FD is too much of a wish for an HD re-release.

I think people who've bought larger TVs since they've been regularly watching DVDs would appreciate the picture quality improvement on Blu-ray more, and new Blu-ray prices are generally what DVDs were a few years ago, plus they've certainly helped to knock down DVD prices for everybody else.

Video to DVD = useful.
Black and white to colour = useful.
Tape to CD = useful.

Cooporate wankery.

I also used to think that HD was a waste of time, until I got laser eye surgery. I couldn't see much difference between normal TV and HD before, now I can see there is a HUGE difference. If Forever Delayed gets released in HD, I for one would definitely buy it.

lol. Great argument. I'll add:

DVD to Blu-ray = useful.

Do you still run your computer display at 640x480?

(and I think you mean "corporate"?)

I watched this just yesterday and can't say I think the qulaity is bad. I've never thought though "Ooo this should be HD" cos I don't get all this HD bollocks, My TV picture is perfectly fine to watch in my opinion. I don't even know anyone with a HD TV or DVD player or whatever else is around.
So no.

Nah, the videos were made almost 20 years ago in some cases, they wouldn't look any better.

It depends what the videos were shot on more than their age. If they were shot on film, they could benefit from a Blu-ray release. But I doubt many of them were. It would be interesting to know though... I'd certainly love a few of them in HD if they were available.

I would guess any that are will end up as HD downloads sometime, music videos are quite well suited to downloads because of their short running times.

That's not a problem in itself though, the ratio has very little to do with it. HD 4:3 is still just as much a step up from standard def 4:3 as something in 16:9 or 2.35:1 etc.

Agree with all of Porco's points.

From the look of it, most of the videos were originated on film, so a HD remaster of Forever Delayed is feasible.

The only thing prohibiting this from happening is the cost.
