Who else is bored with the Manics?

If you are not bored with the Manics then this thread doesnt require your posts.

I am bored with the Manics.

I am bored with the interviews
The kindas and the you knows
I am bored with the songs I've heard
They are bland and forgettable
I am bored with the trawls through the back catalogue
I've heard it all before
I am bored with the various editions of Postcards
They all have the same songs on them which cost nothing on the net anyway
I am bored with Wire's tweets
Woah - connecting with the fanbase!
I am bored with the defending of them on here
The songs are worse than SATT
I am bored with the Manics
They will not care

I agree with a couple of you're points, but i think you should have held off on the manics hate. At least until the album comes out.

It's disappointing seeing them slip back into commerical mode. But they gave us a wonderful album only last year. We can't forget that.

EDIT: What i am bored of is the hyping up of the new stuff, as it does to me sound awfully bland to me. That's only after hearing the live versions from a bad gig and the new single. I will reserve ultimate judgement until the album comes out. I've not actully listened to the free download song yet either. But that's just my own opinion. And i am not in the business of venting my views on what i don't like about the band, too often. Manics fans are the best fans in the world and i don't like to annoy them too much

What an odd discussion. Why are you a fan anymore?

The Manics fan that uses a Manics forum to complain about how much he doesn't like the Manics is surely an oddity unique to the Manics? It's hard to understand what these people want. The Manics fans pre-1996 that didn't like Everything Must Go I assume have moved on. Now however there's a plethora of Manics fans that hate at least 4 of their last 5 albums and spend a lot of time telling other Manics fans how much they dislike the band. Bizarre.

It seems some people listened to the Manics during certain periods of their life. Now the back catalogue is nostalgia and any new material is boring. Time to let go folks.....

I just don't see the point in moaning about it.We all change. The Manics aren't going to be the same as they were when they first started.Just have to except that and go with it.Or move on to another band,no big deal.

Can people not accept a range of opinion. Can people not accept that others may have different opinions than themselves?

Do people not read an OPs posts in other threads to see the depth and complexity of his feelings towards the band.

This thread is effectively over after Picard stepped in.

*Adopts after closing time growl* "If you dont like 'em, get the fuck out!"

Some Manics fans are a bit dim.

This thread is getting dull now, I'm more fed up of posts about people being allowed to have their opinion/people should not come on the forum than I am of posts about being bored with the band. Thus:

Well I was up until 2am last night listening to the latest single on repeat.

I think I'm addicted.

I can understand why some people would get bored as the band release a completely different record every time and not everyone is going to like them all.

But how many bands get to ten albums making the same type of record every time?

Most bands are lucky to make three albums and usually two of those are shite.

I can only think of one Manics record that I don't regularly listen to and even that has four or five tracks on it that I love.

The last time the Manics were on Jools Holland I was left contemplating how a band consisting of 40 year old men could look and sound more inspiring than the bands full of twenty year olds that shared the studio with the Manics on that night.

How many bands are there nowadays that have so many great songs that they can't play all of them at a two hour gig?

How many bands are there that play a festival and leave the casual attendee raving about how good they were and how they didn't realise they had so many amazing songs?

Imagine if Nicky and Richey had adopted that attitude towards everything. Every Manics song would be an instrumental.

word. I may not agree with everything said, but I think some people need to get a grip and realise this is a fucking DISCUSSION board, meaning that a difference of opinions should be allowed to exist to inpsire debate. I thought Manics fans were alleged to be intelligent, rather than the sort to say "NO NO NO, EVERYTHING THE MANICS DO IS PERFECT, AND YOU SHOULD NOT VOICE YOUR OPINION IF YOU DISAGREE."
