I would love it if the Manics released a complete discography including UK channel boredom, suicide alley and every b-side, remix, unreleased live covers and unreleased songs including those Nicky recently mentioned. It would be a completists wet dream.

There should definitely be an early demos and bootlegs set plus the b-sides not on LT.

It could be 4 Discs.

1. Suicide Alley - The Holy Bible

2. Everything Must Go - Know Your Enemy

3. There By The Grace Of God - Postcards From A Young Man

4. B sides, Live, Unreleased.

What I'd really love is a Nirvana With The Lights Out style box set of just unreleased stuff and b-sides/rarities. I never quite understand the point of a boxset that includes album tracks, like the Clash's On Broadway. The kind of people that are going to shell out for a boxset like that are going to have the albums already! And newcomers are better served by a regular greatest hits album.

It's about telling the story of a band using their music.

This.

I'd much rather see a b-sides/rarities collection and then a special edition of each album ala THB and EMG sets released a few years ago. Repackaging the album tracks would be.... well, just repackaging the album tracks.

However Clash On Broadway has 26 non-album, b-side & unreleased tracks, so is an extremely bad example of that.

& Could thee Manics be bothered to do anything else?

I bought Clash On Broadway without owning any of the albums.

Ah, but was then when they kept having it for about £18 in HMV? At that price, why not! But it would be decades before we could get this (imaginary) Manics box for that little! And I don't want them padding out a couple of CDs of unreleased stuff with 3 extra cds of stuff I own, and using it as an excuse to charge twice as much.

Yeah you just keep ignoring the fact it had non-album singles on it.

They're bound to do a more comprehensive greatest hits sooner or later, especially since their commercial rating has picked up over the past couple of years. But I doubt they'll release so much unreleased stuff as they seem cagey about releasing that kind of stuff.

And personally I wouldn't be too interested in unreleased live stuff because most of it sounds shite on CD anyway.

A complete singles 2xCD and a DVD of the same, with extras like Strip It Down and a band commentary would do me fine.

Yeah a set like that would be great for the Manics, doubt it'll happen though and would probably cost about £946 for such a set
I'm excited about this OCS one though
