One last shot at mass communication...
I try to decrypt the band's statement accompanying almost every interview about the new album "One last shot at mass communication...". I think they imply that they might try to discover new musical paths after the PFAYM album (more complex and non-commercial) or focus on their solo careers, or even split for a long period of time. Is there anyone who can contribute to my thoughts?

I don't believe in possible hiatus, if you ask me. "More complex and non-commerical" route seems much more likely. Hope they'll surprise us anyway

Haven't they already said? 70 songs of fear and loathing (in Las Blackwood).

I don't remember which interview but Nicky said something similar to "More complex and non-commercial" material.

Which they will no doubt have a number 1 single out of that material.

Cos they were the band that wanted to make such a statement with their first album there'd be no need for another..............seems fitting if, if, they're planning to bow out as the Manics they do it with an album that reaches everyone and ensures they're not forgotten
that or that from now on Nicky's taking over singing duties. He has a erm complex and non-commercial voice

Ooh, so we might get two unique verses per song on the next album?

Much as I love the boys, nothing they say about their albums really means anything. They always find some way to describe their latest album as being profoundly important in a way that nothing anybody has ever done before ever could be. And I, for one, love the way they do that!!

Yay for Nick's solo album, it was very unique, must take a lot of bravery to purposefully sing badly for a whole album but it sounds brilliant.

I understand James and Sean are his best mates and as such want only to encourage him but some things shouldn't be encouraged and Nicky lovely he is but a singer he isn't
