Manics music in films
I was thinking, why has there never been a Manics song used in film before? Ever? Are they against this or something? If you ask me a whole heap of their songs could fit into films to express mood, atmosphere, or just be a cool background song, etc, etc, plus it'd get their music out to a much wider audience....I personally think they should allow their songs to be used in movies, it can only spread the word of MSP

Motown Junk was used in Twin Town and apparently (according to my girlfriend) Motorcycle Emptiness is in the film House Of America.

I'm sure You Stole the Sun was played in Sweet Sixteen in one scene.

I think I recall Nicky once saying he wasn't keen on their songs being in films. If so I think they're making a mistake, music and film works brilliantly to enhance each others' qualities. Also film nuts, myself included, enjoy hunting down songs they discover in some film, more so than from the charts or radio I'd say.
They did use From Despair to Where in Game On of course, which sort of demonstrates my point as, upon hearing that, was when I decided to check out their career post Generation Terrorists. |

The Everlasting was used in the 2001 German film "What to Do In Case of Fire." Not a bad movie, but not great either.

If they're not keen on letting their music be used it films I would find that a bit weird... when you think about the global reach of successful films, there's not a lot of 'mass communication' more... mass. As massive? With as much mass, anyway.

Judge Yr'Self was used in Judge Dredd wasn't it? Or was it going to be used for it but never was? Can't remember!
