Horrible venue, but good for them if they're headlining there.

It was my understanding that concerts/festivals were being relocated away from there because of all the complaints about sound issues.

"Ok, we'll let you play in the evening but you've got to be really quiet to the point that even those who've paid to turn up can't hear you."

But them doing something like this does at least point to the album being out by then. When they said 'September/October', my money was on November, natch.

Radio 2 and Hyde Park are made for a heavily acoustic set.

Found more out about who else is playing;

"Zoe Ball, who is covering breakfast this week for Chris Evans, has so far announced Simple Minds, Jack Johnso, Texas and Jamie Cullum."

Besides, have they not signed an exclusivity deal with Festival No6 and is this not technically a festival? Short acoustic set would make sense.

with that lot i hope they ARE headlining. Looks like a day out for the middle aged Might go now

edit: I've just read the link. Never heard of a radio 2 gig at hyde park. Might take my mum with me. She'll like jamie cullum and texas..sit at the back and then watch from the hill near the entrance. You get a decent view of the light show , sound's not bad. Cons - portaloos and potential rain. HMMM.

I'm not sure that's necessarily true. It could be pre-album promo.
