Well, we definitely need another book on that.

You just can't have too many books on the political, cultural and philosophical contextuals

Perhaps this is my left-wing views talking through the filter of growing up and living in a neo-liberal capitalist economy, but I think there needs to be a book about the books about the political, cultural and philosophical context of the album that puts them into a political, cultural and philosophical context. Or perhaps not, but who can say?

Despite its examination in journalism and other Manics books, there's not really a book like this already, though, is there? Always wondered why it hasn't made it to a 33 1/3 title too.

It's kinda disappointing to see this much negativity and cynicism about the book, on the one forum left where I thought there might be some interest. But, what ho. I've put my order down, anyway.

I'll probably get it. It looks solid and interesting enough.

Pre-ordered mine too. I'm not a fan of recycled trivia, but this looks like it hopefully might skim the surface and provide a more poignant and academic insight

It does sound academic like someone's one PhD thesis. I imagine Richey would love the idea of this book. Might prove a frustrating read but....
