Very tempted by this seeing as its just up the road from me. Any idea when the rest of the line up is announced - would be good to decide if its worth going to the entire event or just the Friday night.

As an ex Skipton-er can't miss this! Just wish they'd done it 15 years ago when I was still at school

Definitely will be aiming for a day ticket when they're released! Can't miss a local gig (I'm in Wakefield so not too far at all). I saw Idlewild at this festival in 2015, the crowd were bloody weird (lots of young kids), but I enjoyed the band.

If it influences anyone regarding whether to get day or whole weekend tickets, Kaiser Chiefs at the Saturday headliners.

Hoping to get a day ticket for this, looking at previous lineups I'm not sure if we'll be looking at Bunnymen or Vengaboys before em.

May go for a day ticket for this one too, I think one of my old schoolfriends and her boyfriend might be going so it's a good reason to meet up with them and see the Manics. Can't be bothered to do the whole weekend though, especially as I'm doing the Great North Run the weekend after.
I was really excited when I saw Maximo Park are on before them as they were one of my most listened to bands as a teenager and I love seeing them live!

Day tickets start being on sale 8 weeks before the event.

Been hearing a few weeks whispers about em threatening not to release day tickets if weekends sell out. Course they're just trying to scare people into buying weekend tickets and that's just what they've done with me. Eh, we've got a hotel for the Friday night, booked that ages ago. Can hang around on the Saturday and drive straight home after, job's a good un. Dunno what the overall day breakup is of the lineup but whatever, just glad to have some firm plans to see Manics this year.

We bought weekend tickets a while ago *just* in case they didn't release any day tickets (even though they did release them a few years ago when we saw Idlewild there). Oh well, not the first time we've spent too much money on this band and I'm sure it won't be the last

Ah, you'd pay not far off £70 just for Manics and Maximo Park. We're gonna hang around on the Saturday and sod off home.

So, my day ticket for 1 September arrived yesterday. Flying solo to this festival and never been there before. Looking forward to it so much. Had a spectacularly bad year and need this more than words can say.
Anyway, many of you guys going? My last Manics gig was on May 20 2016 at Leeds First Direct Arena. Sitting surrounded by lots of, how can I put it nicely? Casual fans. There, said it! Folks who knew maybe four or five songs in total. Last gig itself? Gnr in London on 16 June. Epic. Just mind blowing. Also large casual fan contingent there as well. Grr! Well I'm looking forward to it anyway. I don't need anyone to validate my feelings. Please feel free to ignore me and get on with your lives. Hey, it's all the rage. My only friends have already abandoned me, so it's all good. Join them. Never mind that to me, being a Manics fan used to feel like I was part of something. I'll go and see them. I'll enjoy it. You decide how you need to disregard me. It's no skin off my nose.
Peace out! |
