Finally an official video. Personally I like it. There are daft things, but who cares, music videos are a daft campy medium. This one makes me like the song more, adds to the scope and colour of it, makes it airier somehow. They're really rocking that cool dad look here. Also, of note, Kieron Evans will be directing "all the videos in this widescreen melancholy" aesthetic (they're saying those two words waaaaay too much  ) Which sounds like good news to me, since I've liked all the work they've done together thus far, the themes have been clear and the images crisp. Also, sounds like they're planning a bunch of singles and videos, which is always nice.

It's nicely shot and what not, but nothing amazing, I was kind of bored half way through watching it last night, only caring to see footage of the guys. The song has grown on me a lot, although every time I hear the it that goes "du du du du, du du du du" it reminds me of a theme from snooker on TV, or Grandstand, or something like that for some reason

So is the reason why you always get comments under Manics videos asking how they can get on the UK trending page with so few views?
Sony paying YouTube has always been the suspected answer. Sony not allowing other countries to see it might be another. Either way, if they paid to gain a relatively paltry 60,000 views, they should reconsider their strategy.

At the moment 2.18..... I just die and wish I never admitted to being a fan. This guy at work today pissed himself and kept rewinding the video to that point. I have never been so embarrassed.the end.

This would probably be taken at a dig at weight (It's not, nothing to complain about!) but facially I find the funniest James's expression at 1.40 as it reminds me of the expressions pulled by Alexei Sayle when doing his Gilbert And George sketches!

Took my time to see the video too now. It was pretty much what I expected to see. But the Japanese does indeed sound like a native English speaker was practising some assigned quotes for the recording. But then, maybe that was done on purpose because it's "international" blues, so if you make it sound like it were a foreign language to the speaker herself, it kinda gives it a new meaning.

What the video really needs is a flock of seagulls photoshopped around James so it looks like he’s watching them fly by.

It's a very well done video, great use of colour, light, shape and emotion. Really like it.
