I'm surprised nobody mentionned that wonderful psychedelic masterpiece that is the Strip It Down video. I almost died when I watched it for the first time.

I second that about Strip It Down! Heehee!

Brilliance is a joke now is it? Ok. Whatever.

Haha yeah!

Nicky's bypass comment, after reading his reasoning for it, is even funnier. "I just thought, 'this is going to be hilarious!' and then just strolled up to the mic".

That Irish music awards performance of You Love Us in 1992. When James drags the amp across the stage and falls over in the process, with Nicky in the background shouting something that sounds like "blow, bloe, blow, blow, blow, blooooooowwwwww!"

For me, nothing will EVER top Crappergate. That was what turned me from a casual fan into an obsessed one. That rant was just. brilliant.

The gig at Southampton Guildhall a few years ago where they were about to launch into the opening song when Sean realised he'd forgotten his drumsticks is the one that springs to mind for me.

Not a real moment, but the snapshot on YouTube of the video for "Motown Junk" is hilarious!

Cos I haven't seen it mentioned yet - You Love Us from Reading 92: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcJvEy5drt0

The bass in that is badder than bad all the way through, but particularly at about 0:43

You're right - man, the sound of his bass is awful! Could only happen to The Wire.

I love the way he's jumping around before, and when he makes a really bad mistake he stops and you catch a glimpse of his face like "ohhh shit"

First that spring to mind are when James took the piss out of the lyrics for Starlover at the heavenly gig. "Fucking made sense at the time! I'll stick by it..."

That and my friend Sam's reaction to Nicky wire coming on in a dress at brighton center. He likes the manics but it was the first time he saw them live and wasn't aware of his crossdressing tendancies: "Wh..what the fuck is he wearing?"

To which I simply replied "a dress" without a second thought. Ah, the dangers of being a devout fan and forgetting others don't know things
