Presumably, to make people think they're buying something rarer and more valuable than they really are. I wouldn't trust a record buyer's guide on the value of things - generally, things are worth what people are willing to pay for them, you'd get a much better idea of that from Ebay. And if you sell something to a dealer you also won't get that sort of price due to their mark-up.

The proper Stars and Stripes is a pretty nice thing to buy, due to the different sleeve and the different mix of the album - I think my copy cost all of a fiver (also with unused stickers).

Fucking hell. I got the Japanese import of Stars and Stripes years ago, and mine didn't have any stickers

i've always overpaid for stuff ..i'm too impatient for things to have a proper budget. It depends on what it is. I won't pay stupid money but yea i generally overpay. I wish i had the willpower to say *well thats only worth a fiver so thats all i'll pay* but alas.. I'm working.. i have no social life so all my drinking money goes on the manics

I've all but given up on ever finding a copy of LB or THB or vinyl at this point...

I actually got my THB pic disc from a US seller on eBay a couple years ago for $15 shipped.

LB cost me about $40, just after it started going for 40 pounds. I got REAL lucky on that one on GEMM.

But yeah, I've never found any Manics vinyl in a shop anywhere. Once found a sealed copy of the US pressing of EMG, though. le sigh.

Nice work

I've been a Manics fan for 11 years and my collection is frankly pitifull considering. Will post a picture later. I recently gave away my single disc editions of THB and EMG to my brother as his interest in the Manics has finally gone from casual to interested enough to have all their albums! I have the anniversary editions of THB and EMG anyways, so it's all good.

Not much to show for 11 years worth of Manics fandom, is it? But thanks to eBay I'm slowly starting to rectify this and build up my collection

Is that the vinyl or CD version of Lipstick Traces? As the vinyl's near impossible to find, but they've got the Limited Edition for £9.99 at HMV.
