Midnight Oil are a great band I have all of their albums. The 2 best early albums are 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and Red Sails in the Sunset. After Diesel and Dust they became more popular overseas so I guess most people here would be more familiar with those ones.

For anyone interested Peter Garrett (lead singer and lyricist) is now minister for the environment, heritage and the arts in the Rudd government.

There are many other great bands here I was just wondering if Powderfinger are at all popular overseas?

Is Russel Crowe a Kiwi?

The Kiwis do have Flight Of The Conchords and Ladyhawke, but that's set against The Datsuns and Daniel Bedingfield.

I'm only familiar with Midnight Oil as Hot Water Music covered Dreamworld - I like their version but I've not listened to the original so I can't tell you if they've done it justice or not.

My favourite Hot Water Music song also starts with the line "I need a Remedy of Diesel and Dust" which must be another tip of the hat to them.
