Now there a good lad I did vote that it lazy, which i would love to see anyone dispute that claim, which is prefect for current chart music. |

There's nowt wrong with his backing vocals for Roses in the Hospital. Same with My Little Empire. And the 'control' in the original You Love Us. But those songs are a long way from this.

I'm with Manicbill on that one. Also, it depends what you mean by 'lazy'? For me that just equates as not being to your particular taste.

I'm not saying I hate his voice or anything, I'm saying he can't sing to save his life. I actually quite like his vocals in small doses. Suppose the polite way to defend them would be to say they've got character, like Bob Dylan or something...

One of my favourites is the sly "what a mess" in Intravenous Agnostic.

Lady Lazarus is my fave Wire vocal.

The nicky backup vocal is the prefect example of how lazy this song is. Just the same ideas they have recycled from there past efforts. If you like that, then fine it is your personal taste, but it is lazy and if you like lazy, then that fine. I don't. |

It sounded nearly exactly as I expected it to, it seems almost like SATT-done-rightly, which is...alright, as I didn't much like SATT and think that sort of style could be taken to greater heights. It is catchy and as radio friendly as "one last shot at mass communication" would lead one to think it would be, it's not bad. James' vocals sound great on it! Also the surprise Nicky vocals and the funky bassline interlude were nice treats.

I really still like Nicky's little quip in the single despite thinking it sounded awful on first listen! Adds a bit of character He really should have outgrown singing lead vocals on album tracks though...
