I think it's JDB who doesn't like them, or didn't years ago. Though there are times I've read them slag off some band and then give a mention of support later on.

The source on Richey saying he hated them was dubious at best, the "In the beginning" book. & I've read Wire say they were "just decadent", well they were decadent but not just decadent. As a young man they led me to Kurosawa, Truffaut, Kafka, Rimbaud & Genet. I am forever in their debt.
