They'd never do that. That would be mean playing album tracks.

was listening to the boot of edinburgh today where james announces the 'song from each album' thing.
was a little peeved with the comment before empty souls too 'every family has one....ours is called lifeblood'.
its almost like he was apologising for playing it.

You should have heard him in Liverpool....he told people to go to the bar during it....and then they kicked it out.

It's just occured to me I have never once seen a Manics setlist and not felt sad and disappointed. Ever. Apart from Heavenly. There must be something wrong with this.

is that cos the song got a flat response tho at previous gigs? He seems to need to see a physical response from the crowd as a sign they like the song. He's said people just standing there watching bores him. Thats why we get greatest hits sets

He said 'we're playing a song from each of our albums, so you might want to go to the bar during song 18'....and then he said it again later...I think he said something about joking and don't go, but he was really down about it.

It saddens me looking back at the PPF setlists, precisely because they were so good - they showed the Manics could still play the hits, but also lots of rarer stuff, pleasing both the casual fans and the more hardcore fans.

That's what stopped me/us, the lack of money. Urgh, saving up from now for the next tour, I WILL do more than one date!

You'll get away with not doing it anyway, like they did on Top Of The Pops.

Empty Souls is great. James is really...bonkers...to act like that. They shouldn't have ever released fd, they have been playing gh setlists ever since. God bless jfpl first half.
