Indigo is far nicer than the main arena too.

I hope after the Dublin, there is a Belfast- then they can go onto those English and Welsh dates!

That's smaller than many of the small venues they've been playing lately. It's not a bad spot in itself though.

I think it's that size of venue that is their future judging by their latest sales figures!

Sale figures on records maybe but the tour still sold extremely well, even with bigger venues.

Really? Didn't know they'd spoken specific venues to anyone. Still, if this information is first-hand...

No prizes for guessing who the support band are then....

Although they could sell out the O2 themselves, if everyone who bought the album goes.

This has got a definite feel of them playing arenas regardless of whether they sell out, because they know they'll never do them again.

This is a Manics tour, not a Manics supporting tour - so no chance

They usually put on gigs that are guaranteed to draw - double bills of the Saw Doctors and Aslan, Christy Moore, Horslips, The Frames...I'd say most of the successful gigs they put on are with bands who play there nearly every year.
I totally understand what you're saying. It doesn't help when you have the likes of MCD encouraging artists to just do an extra one or two dates in Dublin, instead of wasting money putting on gigs elsewhere around the Country.
Maybe i was a little off when i said 'they don't realise what a good venue they have'(that's more to do with Cork venues), but if they got more involved with one of the bigger promoters, or hired someone who knows the business inside and out, maybe they would have more of a chance of getting bands down there. It's not far from Cork or Limerick. It just sad that a perfectly good venue is either closed or half open, catering for medicore acts 95% of the time.

If people were used to good gigs being on there, they would travel down to Killarney. It's a nice town, smack bang in the middle the prettiest area in the Country.
