More like saved from I've tried listening to it with fresh ears but it's still not good. The title track is great and The Future Has Been Here 4Ever is Nicky's best vocal, but the rest...I'd love to strip back SKON, there's just too much going on in it and it's too overblown. The version they played at Hammersmith was fucking beautiful so if it has been nearer to that it would have been one of their best songs.

And for this NT thing, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a cover and a new song just to make it to 40 tracks or something.

It's pretty darn good to me! Looking forward to the new song/cover or whatever it turns out to be!

SKON is arguably the worst produced Manics song since Sean shouted 'fuck off, I can't be bothered, I'm playing Sonic the Hedgehog with Richey' to Steve Brown. So bad that James had to angrily deny accusations of Auto-Tuning his vocals. They are made to sound that way in places because nothing sounds authentic in the mix. Nick Na[whatever] could emulate the sound of strings more convincingly on his cunting organ.

They should swallow their pride and remix a few tracks for this comp, that being one of them. It would be a selling point.

They could re-mix PFAYM to their heart's content, but it wouldn't improve the quality of the songs themselves And that's the fundamental problem with that album for me...

Listening to The The's "This Is The Day" and just imagining what the Manics could do with it. Would sound f*cking cool.

It was the lowest selling greatest hits album ever or something at the time. Others have done very well and continue to do so

The quality of the songs and how they've been mixed are fine with me. Not really seeing the songs being 'too busy' myself either (referring to MSPKYE's post a bit further up). But then I do love ELO and you don't get any more busier and overblown than ELO!

I think the time is right for the Manics to celebrate their singles success as its almost 20 years since their first top 40 hit Stay Beautiful (10th August 1991... just crept in at #40). Especially since the charts mean sod all now days. Hope they have Richey on the cover, like Forever Delayed did.

Wonder if the cover will be a montage type thing of various gigs from the past.

Ever since that Nicolas Cage fan cover on page 2 I still think about it as the final cover...

Hopefully a new McCarthy cover that Nicky hinted on twitter a while back

I hope they'd use Mr Richey's effort from this thread: http://www.foreverdelayed.org.uk/for...ad.php?t=55066

Which bought us these beauties!

Wasn't this album (and a winter tour) originally announced ages ago by an old NME photographer or someone who said he was working on a book with them that had nothing to do with Nicky's publishing deal?

Unless I dreamt it (and I really hope I don't have dreams about Manics compilations) it possibly confirms another book format for the deluxe edition featuring lots of archival photos that attempt to make people forget how old they look now.
