Just bookmarking a place in the thread to come back when they properly announce tracklisting. I actually still want success for this album that would make lesser bands call it quits after accomplishing.
This is nothing to do with brownie points or holier than thou.

I want the exploitation of paying for 2CDs with most of their singles on.
It's my choice and damn! The system found out my one weakness... I couldn't resist buying NT! Bastards! Who grassed them up?
See, I've even called it "NT"?
A typical "agree to disagree" post. It could be the last time I will ever try to feel the excitement of Manics albums. Is that more depressing than being depressed over NT in general?
As for the cover, I haven't heard it anyway so didn't click the link.

Oh god no, none of this 7" vinyl boxset bollocks, I want a proper lovely boxset in a comprehensible format that actually has space for more than two songs and can be listened by people who don't fetishsize such eldritch artifacts.

I thought exactly the same as most other people seem to of here when i first heard the song they will be covering ('Oh dear god, what have they done!?') But ive just listened to it for a second time, and just imagined the accordian being replaced with an overdriven guitar sound, and James belting out the vocals rather than the soft vocals in the middle, and im now looking forward to hearing it! On the other hand, the manics could just try to copy the original in every way and leave us all once again wondering wtf they are thinking.

I would have liked them to release a new song for the next single.
I don't think it will do very well but i love Matt Johnson and can't wait to hear this cover.Think James will sound great.I love the lyrics.

So has it been officially said this is the song they're doing as a cover? I listened to a bit of the song on the link above, turned it off a bit.
And are they not releasing all the singles in a box set or was that just something that fans started sayign what they'd like? I lose track of what is happening sometimes. I'll wait for the official word on the tracklisting and release formats.

It's apparently appeared on single release lists and would match the idea of covering The The.

That was a possible special edition thing, it's not sure if it's actually going to happen.

It said in Q that there would be limited boxsets with individual cd's. So here's hoping.

They don't know what they're doing. And by 'they' I mean whoever put the album on the official store down as October 3 in the face of everyone else changing it to October 31.
