Brain thief! I actually had that idea once! I thought it would be cool to have the band in the middle, a few cut outs of the band from different eras, and then be surrounded by all of the different people name-checked in Manics songs or referenced in artwork etc e.g. Nixon, Robeson, Emily Pankhurst, Richard Burton, Marilyn Munroe, Kinnock etc etc.
Oh well, MAYBE SOMEONE WITH TIME AND SKILL ON HERE COULD DO IT, or the band could sit on that until the next 'best of' in 10 years time.

just looked at the tracklisting again, and There By The Grace Of God Features. it feels very weird as it was the single for the FD greatest hits, wasn't it?

Weird yes, but fair because it's the best single they've released in the last decade.

Underdogs was a limited edition special thing aimed mainly for fans and God Save the Manics was a limited freebie gift for fans. Neither were promotional singles which is what this comp's all about.

on the basis of them not releasing any singles off JFPL and not releasing 1985 as a single, i am kind of inclined to agree with this, really. top song, but still feels weird. one could argue that, album wise, Motown only exists on compliatons from the bands, but i seem to recall that some CD issues of GT had it on.

fair do's, i wonder though if either/both of these and the New Art Riot EP shall feature in the "deluxe box set" they are supposed to be releasing.

Very doubtful, and I think New Art Riot is a technical impossibility because Sony doesn't have the rights for it.
