Jackie Collins will probably be one of the Japanese bonus tracks, Primitive Painters and Alien Orders.

Judging by the creativity and intelligence of Manics fans, and the fact that they know what would please the target audience most, the fans themselves could produce an alternative special box set worthy of the £165 price tag. Think of the valuable video/audio footage and fanzine material held by fans worldwide, and their artistic ability to produce beautiful tribute items with more aesthetic quality than a lipstick and compact mirror (I'm reminded of Jeremy Deller's The Uses of Literacy). I would buy such an "International Treasures" set made by fans for fans.

Jesus fucking christ. And here I was thinking that this would be a proper, great discography release cataloging their singles history and that they'd never even dream of releasing anything as pointless as single songs in single discs.

Fuck me.

And a lipstick and compact mirror? Really?

Back in 2001 when Björk did Vespertine, One Little Indian released all the tracks on individual discs in various magazines as free promotional items. Lucky fans could gather all these CDs and a separated box could be bought for very little money to hold these CDs. It's just the same but now for £180. Nice.

Such a wasted opportunity when you think about it.

Hey collectors! Got all the 1 track promos? Got a white shoebox, a random A3 print and a set of £1 lipstick+mirror set (+ a permanent marker to write "4Real" over them)? Then congratulations, you just saved yourselves £180!

Ridiculous, it's just plain awful.

39 audio tracks on 39 CDs
So...let me get this straight, it's not a single+b-side/s on a disc but really just one song per disc? The lipstick and compact thing is cool though (shouting back to the powder + compact from GT-era), but clearly (to me) not worth this price for what all one is getting.

Might be more worth it if it came with a copy of the book Kevin Cummins has made.

I'm actually shocked that they think this 'one track per cd' thing is in any way viable. Jesus christ, this is a farce.

Not really understanding this at all to be honest. With The Clash singles boxset it wasn't just one song on each seperate CD. Surely Friends Of The Earth or Greenpeace will have something to say about this! The promotional side of things doesn't bother me to be honest cos at the end of the day you can choose to buy something or not.

It was such a good opportunity to have cds with all the b-sides (from both cd1 and cd2, and any vinyl/cassette extra tracks) finally available. What an utter crock of shit.
