Being a US Manics fan sucks hard....
I tell ya. Tried getting the single or pre-ordering the album on iTunes........nothing. Can't watch certain youtubes here either. This sucks. I rarely paid for music in the past 10 years, with most of it probably going to the Manics, I was all on board with forking over my hard earned dollars for this and I can't get jack.
With the internet and stuff I don't know why this isn't available to us few fans in the USA. Probably some record company B.S. I guess I'll have to find it through............other means! |

I'd say go for it!
You tried your best to get it legally, it's not your fault it's not available. Besides that, getting stuff for free is less harming to the band than giving it all up at all. It is a little more harmful to the company, though, but it's the band we love here, not Sony Music or whatever. You can make them free advertisement in return. ^_-

I had no problem getting the single legally here in the US from the official site. I don't know a single other US Manics fans who was unable to get it from there either.

Both versions of the album are on iTunes Canada.
Amazon Canada has the import album - so I don't expect a North American version. I've ordered many CDs from either Amazon UK or the old Manics store. The VAT will be taken off and the listed price will be less. Those outside the UK cannot buy Amazon MP3 downloads, though. Odd, though, that they will send physical CDs. |

You can order the physical copies from Amazon or HMV or Amazon UK or MyPlay (the official site). You can buy the mp3s from MyPlay. Really iTunes US is the only place you can't get them from.

Well to be fair iTunes is the only place I looked so far. I do like having the actual CD's when it comes to the Manics though, so I probably will order it. Still sucks being a US Manics fan though!
I wonder if they'll tour over here for this record. (That was sarcastic) |

I am apparently incorrect. Amazon Canada has new Rewind the Film listings with Sony Music Canada, to be released Sept. 17.

"Yeah, my Dad likes that band..."
"Aren't they the one who had their lead singer go missing?" "I love that one 'Libraries Get Us Power'!" No, no, no! Stop getting Manics wrong! |

As an American Manics fan, very little in the fanbase annoys me as much as American Manics fans whining about how "hard" it is, or how much it "sucks" to be a fan here. Especially post-file sharing. The access to the actual music is more or less the same as it is for the rest of the world. So it comes down to how little they tour here. Which isn't unusual compared to their peers. I bet you the Manics have played just about as many shows in the US in their career as Pulp has. Blur didn't exactly spend a lot of time here. Or Suede.

^ Doesn't that just mean it sucks to be a blur or pulp fan, not that it negates the manics aspect. I think it sucks I can't go see them this year because I live in the US!

It means that it's not uncommon for bands from that era who were much bigger in the UK than they ever were in the US to not play here very frequently. I don't see how that makes it "suck" being a fan of something. If being a fan of something "sucked" why would you keep being a fan?
I don't usually fanboy, but you know what? Being a Manics fan, wherever you are, is fucking awesome. And as someone who has done it for the past fifteen years in the US, I've yet to see the part about it that "sucks." I've never had a legitimate problem obtaining their music (even when I had to buy it in record stores), I've seen them play more shows than I ever would have thought I would, and I've met some pretty cool random Manics fans out in public over the years. I'm sure it's a lot harder being a Manics fan in most of the rest of the world than it is in America.
