I'm waiting and seeing although I suspect I will probably at least buy it in the end, and I will obviously listen, I'm just wondering if it's for me.

I find it hard to get excited per se before an album's release. I don't really like having to listen to songs on YouTube, SoundCloud and the like and I'm certainly not going to listen to 6 Music all day so I can hear the songs hours apart and out of order. I think a lot of the (particularly early) reviews were very poorly-written, badly informed and hardly got me hyped up.
What excites me is being able to sit down with the actual album and listen to it loud, in full, without distractions. I'm really looking forward to that, but anything else that happens in the lead-up doesn't really get me going.

I wish I waited before listening to it. I love the album but I've not really felt excited for a manics album since Journal. Everything since Lifeblood and after Journal was a let down. RTF is different though. It's ace.

Conversely, I am more exccited about this album than I was Postcards. Certainly felt this excited about Journal... Can't wait to hear it.
Not as excited as I am about the Arcade Fire record though, obviously...

I can't be bothered at all ATM, but hope to feel differently once I've heard the album. It does seem to be getting great reviews, which is promising, but I feel much more excited about the next one based on what I've heard.

Me too. I am excited about RTF, but much more about the next one!

I too am more excited by the one which I haven't heard anything from yet. Well, I say 'more excited', I mean 'yet to be disappointed'.

Yes,me too!More intrigued to hear that.Well, maybe I can't get excited anymore as I get disappointed too many times(not speaking only about the Manics)that I prefer have no expectation at all.

Put me down as another meh. But that's hardly surprising as I've pretty much lost appreciation for all music...

A very good way to put it, same here. Although I'd lie if I said I weren't excited at all, but yes, I'm rather intrigued too.
I think I can co-feel with you.

It's more challenging to be excited when you live in another country and you don't get your physical copy until about two weeks after it's been released. iTunes makes it a bit easier in that there is a download. People here talk about the album and I'm sitting and waiting for mine to arrive and feeling very late to the party.

Yeah, this is my problem, I am interested to hear this but if I'm being honest I can name five upcoming albums I'm more interested in (Arcade Fire, Anna Calvi, Sleigh Bells, Chvrches and Au Revoir Simone) so I think I'm just sapped for enthusiasm until I can hear it all.

I wasn't then I heard some of it on 6music today. I'd say you were missing out if you don't pick it up.
I'm very impressed. I'd liken it to the acoustic sound of Journal. The single is a poor representation of what I've heard.
