Not the most surprising thing. Still 5 new songs is 1 more than I expected.
This was a full gig? Are the new songs long or what? You'd usually expect 23 or 24 from them. |

NICKY SANG!
That was absolutely fucking amazing. AND NICKY SANG Really enjoyed that setlist. So great to hear 'Elvis Impersonator' live. Really glad 'Tsunami' and 'Revol' have survived from the NT shows. AND NICKY SANG! Hawley was brilliant. Genuinely gobsmacked when he walked on stage, even though I already expected him to be there. His voice is SO powerful live. GAAAAAAAHNICKYSANGNICKYSANGNICKYSANG! Nicky singing 'As Holy As The Soil' was beautiful, as were the couple of verses of 'Golden Platitudes' he gave us as an intro, and his stories about Richey seemed to have everybody around me in tears. Really fantastic gig. So thrilled to see them again. Can't wait for Dublin.

I've just got back and will recount my thoughts later, but it did seem shorter than normal. Their set time was advertised as 9pm but they didn't start until around 9:15pm.

Good gig, flew by. A LOT of singles, 5 new tracks with a guest appearance by Richard Hawley for RTF. As Holy As The Soil was great by the saxophonist royally fucked up on the last verse before the outro. An enjoyable gig but it seemed like only the front rows were truly enjoying it. A lot of people seemed bemused.

A friend of mine spoke to Nicky afterwards and Nicky said Anthem For A lost Cause is the next Single and it is out in December.

Nicky sang part of golden platitudes and then did as holy as the soil but they said they couldn't decide between that or 30 Year War.
