Are you still going to Manchester? I'm really hoping for an improved setlist by then

Manics set was excellent, very intense set. New stuff sounded less heavy of course, but Revol, Motown Junk, You Stole the Sun etc were very loud. Really chuffed with 30 Year War and Ready for Drowning. Had a blast.

It'll take a miracle to get me back there though, cancelled trains and shuttlebus meant we had to improvise, took all day to get there, then had to leave for the wristbands. Didn't make it to the hotel for check in, so if it Rachel hadn't kindly put us on her hotel room floor, we would have had to rough it in a freezing and wet field. Joke of a day only redeemed by a great performance.

Glad you enjoyed it - hope you're okay now!

How did 30 Year War sound compared to that Wire song we got in Newport?

I survived, I'm just shocked by how inaccessible and disorganised FN6 is.

Both sounded great live I thought, but I prefer 30 Year War, and the sound was clearer and louder. Some bite to that one, loved it.

I hear a lot of people had problems yesterday. At least you're still in one piece!

Utter shambles of a festival, and I wasn't even too hard done by it. Would not go again which is a shame as it's beautiful.

Still, great set and hung out with some of my bestest bros ever, playing Scrabble at 1AM. Nicky's Michael Gove rant was excellent, Sean looked happy (!) and James's dance moves are as suave as can be. Ready For Drowning was great, This Sullen Welsh Heart was beautiful, Revol was a shout-fest. Very tired, very happy.

Saw Simon Price dancing to Get Lucky, horror of horrors. And Chic were shit, beyond awful, we frowned throughout the entire thing.

Found it mostly very easy until we got there, was driving of course but once at the park & ride there was a shuttle bus immediately and it took 5 minutes to get to the site. Once there though the main issue was the lack of any signage, so it was really difficult to know where to go. We just followed the sound of the music, but it's easy to go wrong. Couldn't figure out why Johnny Marr was on before Chic as i thought he was headlining the other stage? That would've really pissed me off had that been the Manics and they were moved to an earlier slot on another stage! Also took a while to find out which stage was which as they are not signposted!

I'd go back as it was a nice place despite the bad weather and seemed really relaxed, but i'd never get a train there. Portmadog station is walkable from the site, but the trains are irregular and take an age to get anywhere.

Amazing basslines I agree, but the songs all sounded the same.

That's the same kind of criticism that Manics haters use about them... (all the songs sounding the same, I mean - don't think anyone's ever said MSP have had amazing basslines!!!)

Sorry. If it were sunny, the festival had not been a shambles and they weren't on before the Manics then I might have boogied a bit, but they're really not my thing.
