On my way home from their xfm set. It was very intimate and they did a meet and greet after. Only really got to talk to James, what a great bloke!

Breakfast interview was pretty funny for the most part, I thought (Nicky was was far more forthright with his views than any viewer of that programme could have expected at that time in the morning).

Except for the Lifeblood criticism. That never gets funny. Though I would say they're surely as entitled to their opinion as anyone else, having made the thing(!). But I think they're wrong to regard it as a failure.

oh agreed. No need to even mention it despite banging on about expecting to fail. Aside from the presenters amusing panic at Nicky's revolutionary talk the other thing that stuck out was James saying Lifeblood is shit and that they've written some bad songs. Not the way to promote an album!

prospective punter: bad songs? Maybe this album will have a few of those..hmm i'll pass

Yeah, I did wonder what on Earth a casual viewer who had little-to-no knowledge of the band / the new album would have made of it all… that was partly why I found it amusing.

Being a bit of an obsessive like many here I must say I'm continually impressed how they manage to do so many interviews where they have to find new ways to answer the same questions over and over and come up such a variety of answers, in this campaign particularly, I feel like they've shown enormous patience telling interviewers about how there are two albums, how they went on the Lions tour, etc etc. and yet remained interesting and almost always given something with at least a slightly different angle on at least some of the answers compared to all the other interviews.

I can't stand that vacuous woman at the best of times, but now I dislike her even more She can't interview for shit! Bill came across like the wannabe-cool uncle trying to sound knowledgeable about the different musical genres in the 70's.

I also am baffled by the continuous slagging off of Lifeblood. One day they will wake up and see sense
