Sorry if this was already covered, but not having seen it, is the music that is holding this up from being released live performances or just studio recordings mixed in? Or both?

Can anyone who has seen the film give us a few fun details, such as interesting or shocking comments from fans/non fans, how the film ends, is there good footage of the SATT period and what is shown? Oh and is that footage from the trailer of James getting food out of his oven in the movie and what is he talking about? Cheers

Past Present Future Tour I guess. I prefer your suggestions though, way more creative.

Oh and yes lots of SATT footage. If you like watching them rehearse SATT songs and eat delicious burgers, this is the sadly long-stalled and currently unavailable documentary for you.

Shot of Nicky and Sean sat in the studio during the SATT era talking to the camera, from another room you hear James suddenly sing NA NAA NAAA from Winterlovers and Nicky and Sean look at each other with this face:

Ah yes, Nicky's reaction to that is priceless. "What's he fucking doing?"

I remember them being in the studio recording SATT and eating wimpy burgers and talking about how great they were. Other stuff happened too, but. Burgers. |

The official answer to the question of whether No Manifesto will appear ever is that yes, it will appear eventually in some form. We are continuing to explore options and work towards making some kind of release for the film a reality. We have invested too many years, too much emotion, and far too much money into it not to release it.
We don't know what form the release will take or when it will occur, but one thing we can tell you is that the film will NOT under ANY circumstances be released without music. Not only is the music is integral to the pacing and flow of the story, but, HELLO, it's a music documentary! Regardless of what the users here believe about the film having no appeal to anyone who isn't already a Manics fan, as professionals in our field and lovers of the art form of documentary filmmaking, we know there is an audience for well-made music films. We realise that it is not a massive mainstream audience, but we feel completely confident that we have made a fun and entertaining film that will not only appeal to Manics fans but will also be worth seeing for people who enjoy music and documentaries in general. Regarding the question of timeliness, while it's true that most of the filming was conducted during the recording of Send Away The Tigers, the film is about the Manics, their fans and their history as a whole, and is not merely a document of the recording of that album. We tell the story of the Manics from their beginning through to the making of Journal For Plague Lovers and the declaration of Richey Edwards's presumed death. This forms a complete story arc. The Manics, though still active, have a rich history that is largely already written. This is the history told by No Manifesto. We appreciate your continued interest in the film, and share your frustration over the long delays in its release. All we can say about it right now is that the film will be released literally as soon as a release is possible. Hopefully, that will happen soon, and hopefully when it does happen, all of you will still be interested. Either way, as soon as there is news, you will see it here. Thanks again, Elizabeth and Kurt Last edited by Elizabeth M; 14-02-2014 at 01:06. |

Thank you for the update Liz. I for one would be willing to contribute to a Kickstarter campaign or something similar.
