They have a few good songs, I'll admit, but that World Cup anthem was pretty unforgivable, and a lot of people just see them as a less-accomplished Coldplay or Keane...These days that's a pretty damning indictment though!

I agree Forever_Betrayed. I've seen them play a few times and I don't think they intended to be big like Keane or Coldplay

Fair dos, but the heaviness, or otherwise, of an album is all about personal perception really. I love Motörhead and that's about as 'heavy' as I get! I love heavy rock but loathe 99% of heavy metal.

I guess I should have said 'dark as fuck' really

That might well be the case now, but back in the 90s Embrace seemed fairly desperate to be the new Oasis.

ok well I don't think Embrace are much like Oasis though on the thread I love the Manics Walk Me To The Bridge song, the lyrics and music are stunning and beautiful. I can't wait for the album. Also I thought the random walkabout JDB did in his past video is adorable. I think JDB is so lovley and one of the most talented true artists walking around like that : )

The only thing that annoys me about the song are the lines "Money need money / And slums need the poor" - I don't see the point of those lines whatsoever.

I thought it was "sins need the poor" at first, which I think is actually better.

But that's always been the way with Nicky. It's like he has a little book of random lines that he borrows from to finish off lyrics when there's a gap. Which is slightly better than when his second verses borrow lines from the first.

Hello all, neglected this place quite a bit lately.

Walk Me to the Bridge is probably my least favourite of the four we've heard so far. They seem to have a trend of average lead singles. This way, I can at least be hopeful for the rest of the album, because I don't like being one of the naysayers!

Still like it, but oh god EDGM sounds 100 times better! WMTTB is a great single, better than Futurology for sure but EDGM has so much more power and i'm sure Lets Go To War will on record as well.

It's finally crawled on to the XFM evening playlist but no others.

Oh dear, we'll never get another single without strings at this rate.
