I don't get all the calls to issue a vinyl with the tat box. All that does is raise the price to include a format that almost no one can listen to.

I can understand that with tapes, but it's hardly that difficult or expensive to buy a vinyl player!

Agreed. Vinyl is in right now, surely lots of people have vinyl players?

i'm all for the vinyl: i'm pretty sure most already have the album in a format more convenient for them to listen to anyway.

As far as the Suede box goes, I think £100 for a Blu-ray copy, two CDs, a DVD, three 12" vinyls, a 7", a poster, a print, and two books is actually pretty good. Plus you get a stupid cassette and a carrier bag too. I often get the impression some people think any amount of money is 'too much'. Pfft.
'Almost no one', really? When vinyl sells so well these days? Maybe that's still true amongst the general public, but amongst the collectors who will actually buy the boxset I think it's fair to assume that ownership of a turntable is far more common.

I'd rather they issued it as a standalone, if that's what you mean. It's still the only Manics album never released in a standard vinyl format, which is clearly a massive oversight that has needed redressing for 20 years.

Personally, I fail to see why people have such a hard-on for vinyl to begin with.

It doesn't really matter, does it?

Also it has a soul as opposed to cd, cassette and mp3 as nobody real knows how the fuck music gets onto a bit of plastic. That why you get a hard-on for vinyl-it's the way music should be in many peoples opinion. To quote Liam “I fucking hate CDs, I’ve got loads of CDs. But to me they’re just fucking clutter. They’re everywhere. They’re in the fucking pillow, they’re in the microwave.” Vinyl is less throw away to most people who collect it. Last edited by ( ); 29-08-2014 at 14:24. |

I appreciate vinyl for the fact it has that vintage feel and I do love the crackle as the record spins but it is still the same music at the end of the day.

Theres something quite lovely and comforting about putting a record on, feels very civilized. They also look a lot nicer than CDs, and you cant really look at an MP3.
Although I dont entirely approve of picture discs so a standard vinyl release of THB would be nice, as would a normal release of Bangerz rather than just the limited edition picture disc. |

What i mean is there is an element of digital shit in a cd were as vinyl is plastic.cut into a shape and somehow that equals music. Vinyl equals majics. |

Why don't we just forgo any birthday controversy and make it a weekend!?
Happy birthday holy bible 20yrs old+still as vital ever--well have a proper celebration at the end of the year HOPEFULLY-xxx So whether that's celebration in vinyl, cd, dvd or gig(s) we still don't know or if anything will ever come to fruition! Nicky teasing as ever... and yeah as limited experience as I've got in listening to vinyls, making the effort to set it up rather than just pressing play in itunes or whatever makes listening to it all so much more satisfying and worthwhile |
