Why no Black Holes For The Young? That's not on Lipstick Traces. It's the only proper studio b-side (EPs excluded) that's not covered by LT or the re-issues.
BHFTY is on CD1 as it was originally a bonus track on the album. KC/ME/TE (live) were all on the Dutch single for The Everlasting and also released as a bonus cd on some European Tour Editions of Truth. Theres also a live version of KC on EMG which i assume is the Nynex version from the Tolerate cassette, whilst this the Dutch live version.

Things were never going to be perfect. It should have been the album and no bonus tracks on disc 1 and then all the b-sides they could have fitted on disc 2, including the ones on LT. If there was space for live versions of tracks from different eras, fair enough, chuck them on too but they aren't needed.

That would have made everything perfect. It really wasn't much to ask, but I suppose we should be grateful for what they're offering. (Unless they haven't even bothered to remaster them, in which case that's some expensive cardboard we're paying for.)

Ok, nice info! I was unsure which KC live was on EMG but I think you will be right.

So wouldn't you think that Tennesse (I Get Low) would be on GATS (from LTD)? That's the only studio b-side missing overall then, however relevant that version may seem.

So Tennesse (I Get Low) is defo not on these re-issues? I'm pretty surprised at that, as they seem very comprehensive, and this is a classic - well, the B-side to what started it all for the Manics anyway!

It was on La Tristesse Durera 12" though. Arguably that makes it a Sony b-side - in the same way as Suicide Alley became a Sony b-side, which is included in the re-issues. Sony must have rights to it.

I have the Japan CD single with it on at least.

Ahh, i thought it wason a sony b-side, like suicide alley was! Nice one, thank for pointing that out A Face In The Crowd. So is it gonna be an extra on the Japan re-issue of GATS then? I don't think it is, is it??...

Seemingly not unless the tracklist on this thread is incomplete! I hope it is put on.

So, unless I'm mistaken, Tennessee (I Get Low) is the only studio recorded b-side released by Sony that is missing from Lipstick Traces and the new Japanese re-issues.

It's on the La Tris Jap CD....but I don't know, but would sony just have the rights to that one release, or would they have the rights to reuse it?

And why did CD japan reduce their shipping after i ordered JFPL?

sorry to sound the same as everyone else, but yeah, these look great and also seem far too expensive. a shame, there's a number of track on there that we would all want "proper" originals of.

mindful of Bono's observation in a recent Rolling Stone interview ("only teenage girls and really, really honest people go and buy music these days"), i would like to think that Manic fans are either honest and/or teenage girls - i suspect that Sony might do some sort of box set for the European / USA market with these tracks on? skimming through all the other artists on that Japanese mini-lp site, that seems to be how all the other "rarities" have surface in the rest of the world, in particular the Bowie ones.

And what would this be, then? A remix? It wasn'd on FD's CD2, that much is for sure. Hate to look like a rookie since noone else is asking this, but what is it? And more important - is it any good?

(goddamn, I bet its up in S&V... a few meagerly posts to go - better start spamming like hell!)

Is Montana/Autumn/78 under-appreciated?

OK, I'm sorry. Don't ban me.

But I'd still like to know if that's an Everlasting remix or not, and whether it's any good...

Its most likely a rights issue like when the Generation Terrorists Singles Box Set was issued it was missing a Bside
