In the early nineties Nicky finished 3rd in the Irish Setter category at Crufts behind the late Desmond Dekker and an oversized pickled herring - only to be disqualified for having an undersized Gurney flap.
His appeal was dismissed as being frivolous and tasting slightly of cheese and onion crisps. The exact brand of crisp was never revealed.
