oh my god I go to rehearsal and come back to this. Ok, I'll get on it. But do we really have 365 Nicky quotes among all of us? Am I going to have to start a new thread? XD

and to keep this on topic, re: the article--I agree it's not much, but it's so much more than we normally ever see about the Manics here in the States, so I'm not extremely picky I guess.

o_O! I am pretty new here (as far as I know; I feel like I may have lurked a bit in 2004 but I really can't remember even what username I had) and am way too shy to start a thread. The Internet, it is a scary place!

Aw, but you shouldn't be afraid to! I think people would readily jump in there with quotes to help out, see I am already looking for them now XD And if you don't start a thread, I probably will - it is an important cause

OK. You start the thread--I'm probably more tipsy than I should be right now and it is quite late my time--and I will go to sleep and try to plan this massive undertaking tomorrow. With the caveat that it may not be ready by January 1, 2010--I have a ton of auditions/competitions coming up in that time period--but I will try to figure out a deadline.

Not worth the money for the pictures or the article, both of which are shockingly mediocre even by NME's standards. However they namecheck the sign so I feel obliged. I resent having to part with money for such crap.

Totally agree Hanna! I bought it very begrudgingly!

You wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes back in the mid 90s then - it always used to be cheap newspaper and so the ink would come of on your fingers and then you'd forget and rub your nose or something and that would be black too and end you'd end up obliviously wandering around with black streaks accross your face and there never used to be all this colour malarky - half the time it was black and white photos and what was on the other side of the page would have seeped through.

I dunno what you people were really expecting though to be so disappointed, its a shame it didn't make the cover but I thought the article itself was ok, and it was never gonna be more than a couple of pages.

My main grumble over the NME these days is the lack of content, but that applies equally to every other magazine. There used to be a time though when you could spend the past part of your Wednesday reading it and now you could probably do every word cover to cover in a couple of hours tops.

I think you might be exaggerating a bit there. Mind you, I skip the bands i don't know which gets me down to about ten minutes cover to cover

It was quite a good interview. Not sure about the phrase "inherent fagginess", but never mind.

I meant if you read every single word - possibly including the adverts.

I think the inherent fagginess may be a localised issue, mostly found down my end of the barrier.

Also from the Edwyn Collins review I get the impression that although sax soloing may not have made it accross the Atlantic and its safe and well and currently making its way accross the highlands and islands.

I think for the next tour the aim should be to be more imaginative with the sax and get solos in songs you wouldn't expect them (Kevin Carter and Ocean Spray are too obvious) I want the kind of imagination that lead to the great Die in the Summertime gong solo.
