Eh? Why would he have done that? You imply Shangri-La has been used as some sort of nonsensical term that happens to rhyme, rather than as a specific reference to an imagined paradise on earth. Given the context of the song, it's pretty obvious what Nicky is driving at here. I think it's a beautiful song.

Damn JDB and his pronounciations!

I think 'obvious' is exactly the problem.

Defintely should have ended the album with this for me. But I'm not particularly bothered by that. I'm just pleased its on there as its a very good song.

It's a great song though. I'm a sucker for piano-ballad-type-songs and this definitely hits the spot. Oooh...

And "left with the barest of bones leaving us all with homes".
I'm agree. But I can't listen "shangri-la" I listen: "song we love"....U_U

it's surreal, I know...

I think I finally got this song last night. Really love it now. The swelling strings remind me a lot of Oasis' Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders (fucking great song, that).

Listen to this song with headphones on and you'll appreciate it more, I think.

A Champagne Supernova moment. The boy Gallagher would loved to have penned this little beauty.

I've gone from Door To The River as my swan song to this, absolutely in love with this. It takes a lot to move me to tears and only the Manics can do it. God bless ya guys......never stop...never stop....never stop!
