Doubtful as James seems embarrassed by those early metal kitsch years. The look on his face in 2007 when he was playing Born to End said "I'm going to get Wire back for this". Nicky I think is the one who does seem to enjoy putting set lists together. I reckon James vetoes a lot. In favour of Kevin Carter and what have you, ye know, the more "musical" songs.

Just watched this now as I taped it last night. I enjoyed it a lot, wish it was longer mind you. Does anyone know if the "band footage" is from the DVD? Wish it wasn't in black and white and showed more and how random was that clip of Nicky going "Yes I'm fucking crap!"? haha, made me laugh though. The new songs sound great especially The Descent, I love that song. I just don't like the way James has been singing Design For Life this past few years now, instead of really shouting out the vocals like "A DESIGN FOR LIFE!" he sings like it "Wwwwaaaa deeeeesssssiiiiign for life" really high pitched. It's almost as disappointing to me as when he sings the end of EMG in a high pitched girly voice instead going "and if you need an explanation-AAAATION!".
Oh well, nice little documentary indeed, will watch it again later on.

*Presses K* Better than I thought it would have been.
First time I saw it, I liked it but wished No Manifesto had been released?
The third time I saw it I thought... Hang on! The opening bit of them entering the venue looks like a shot from an earlier cut of No Manifesto?
Around the fourth time, I'd either fast forward to the interviews or the songs.

Nothing special really. The interview would have been interesting if we had heard it at the time of the gig, plus the performance was crap.

Just watching it on 4oD now. Nice to see the live stuff again.

One of my biggest annoyances: I WISH NICKY WOULD OPEN HIS BLOODY EYES WHEN HE'S TALKING!

Maybe he writes what he's going to say on the inside of his eyelids in advance?

It was alright. I laughed a lot at Nicky saying 'I am fucking crap' though.

Oh for fuck's sake.

"There was a time when we tried to find the third version, y'know mark 3. Why would we do that?"

Because it was interesting, and you wrote some of the finest songs of your career. You always kept us guessing, covered lot's of different ground stylistically and you never made the same album twice. I guess those days are over now eh?

Yeah, I hate the way they've started to divide themselves into THB/JFPL or EMG/SATT/PFAYM. Why must it be one style or the other?
