If they're promoting National Treasures it would only be fitting for them to play venues that are 'National Treasures' such as libraries, National parks etc....

I think they were well into the 'proper singles' angle for this one, hence these omissions.

Ironically enough, no one has of yet given a flying fuck about the 'Underdogs' omission

"Pigeon Toed Orange Peel". Gotta be. It sounds like it's about cellulite.

If they're releasing a single and can't be bothered to write a song for the a-side, it must be quite likely that they'll end up doing covers of all three anyway.

Then we'll need an exclusive Townsend CD2 for someone to wait two months to receive, so maybe chuck a Skids one on there too and a Steps one on the 7-inch to create a full circle of influences from Motown Junk to It's Not War.

Because Underdogs wasn't a 'proper' single either - it was a highly limited edition fan thing rather than any proper promo single.

Re: that Q interview scan: the final bit about the 2013 album sounds really great and exciting if they keep the stylistically varied direction they're hinting on it.

Oh right, I missed the context of people wondering about the lack of Suicide Alley etc there. Sorry.

I'm excited, I hope the packaging is nice. Anyone here seen The Clash boxset? If it's anything like that, then it'll be great. Difference is, the Clash released it after they split up, which I thought the Manics should've done but oh well! Unless we won't be having any more singles!
