2.What can I say - I liked the SATT cover. It was kinda rough and playful, like the album. So, I quite like this cover too. It's got a sort of commercial look to it, with an old mine in the background. Bit, like the band. I think. Etc.. Blah blah blah!
Rough and playful, I love that description! I actually like the SATT cover and its artwork too...I just don't know what to think of this one LOL. I like to think it's a lost shot...like, the girl is standing in front of the mine waiting for the two girls walking by the bridge to come find her or something.

You'd think with a title like National Treasures they'd do something ridiculous!

I don't get the hate towards the cover picture. Photo of a lovely girl holding a big bit of brass? What's not to like?

I haven't been in a while and remember it being pretty entertaining and a decent day out (unlike the National Slate Museum which was a whole new level of boredom). Although I was secretly a bit scared of the lift.

I had a look at the website just now and it promises that "You'll hear the gripping story of slate..." I can tell you that's an appalling lie.

Apologies if it's been mentioned already, but the next issue of Q mag is their 25th anniversary issue & they're claiming a 'world exclusive' i.e. the vinyl edition of National Treasures available via Q online from 27 Sept & selected WH Smiths stores from 13th Oct.

Track listing: Side 1: M.Junk / Love Us / Kev Carter / Despair / Tristesse / Revol / Ocean Spray Side 2: Australia / Tolerate / Stole The Sun / Robeson / Love Alone / Its Not War & ....Endless Plain Of Fortune.

JDB solo or full band?

Assume there'll be a nice big Manics article as well.

I haven't seen that mentioned. Where did you find that out?

W H Smiths seems an odd choice!

That's an odd tracklist too with no ME or ADFL.

Page 57 of the next issue of Q (October!). As a subscriber, I get it mailed to me normally a day or two before it reaches the newsagents.
