Called them up today, can't refund order as it's already been processed and dispatched apparently. At least they had an order number for me which seems to be more than most people.

Tried Croydon and they gave us a list (apparently) of the only remaining WHSmiths that are stocking it: Leek Buckingham Shelby I am not sure if this list is believable or accurate but they also refused to get any transfered to a local store for me Complete shambles! |

well, that's kind of promising as long as yours turns up this week. i have fired off another mail to them today, giving them the 3 (three) "reference numbers" supplied thus far and asking them what they are doing charging me without actually sending anything.

Not being one to take "no" or crappy excuses for an answer, I've finally badgered Great Magazines enough for them to actually keep their promise and for them to call me back.
I was told that they had stock and that they would send me mine today (or tomorrow) via Signed For mail. I took the opportunity to point out that I'd had to call them 4 times to get to this point. That I'd had 2 previous broken promises for a supervisor to call me. That I'd been given 3 or 4 explanations as to why there was a delay (same as others, i.e. it's been posted already, it's not been posted yet, you have to wait 28 days for us to deliver it or, the final one today, you have to wait till WHSmiths returns the unused issues before we can fulfill the order) ... all of which were complete rubbish. I asked them to investigate the issue internally and to push a message out to all people that had pre-ordered to tell them what was going on and when they would send out everyone's orders. This is hopefully to save us all having to complain separately. I happily informed them about how people were publicly complaining about this debacle and that bad press was not going to help them. Oddly, they asked me if their operators knew this was a "stock item" rather than a back issue or a free gift?! "Clearly, that's not my issue", was my reply! They also stated that their systems had been changed over which would account for some of the delay ... again "not my issue" was my reply. I certainly won't be dealing with this company again, not matter what the product. If you are unhappy at the situation and/or they don't take my complaints seriously and push out a message, I would urge you all to call rather than e-mail, because only that way can you get them to understand what you're asking them. Well that was fun...just called them up and they said they'd sent it out on the 5th so it must have got lost in the post!! What rot!
I told them that seemingly no-one who had pre-ordered it had received it and he said he's only had 2 complaints this week...! Then he said he'd send "another" one out and it would take 7-10 days. I whinged and told him I wasn't prepared to wait this long so he's trying to get it sent recorded delivery...but only after I complained. What a complete set of utter incompetent douchebags. |
