the plan, as far as we are aware, is for them to, somewhat suicidally if they think it will actually chart, release the CD single of TITD on Nov 7 anyway.

My order seems to have dispatched, so I'm guessing it just sold out of online stock. I'll pass on about the November 7th release (which seems incredibly strange, however...).

if you could let us know if the single arrived with your set that would be ace, mate - a lot of people pre-ordered from HMV for that reason.

If it doesn't I suspect a tidal wave of Q-smelling e-mails will be rushing their way in the next few days! Mine has been sent too, I'll post as soon as I get it if no-one else has already.

i am kind of hoping that it is HMV got x amount of stock of the singles and sold out on the pre-orders; which would be good for the fans and very good news for the album as that means there's a good chance it will chart high.

i am kind of thinking HMV hasn't had the soundest business model for a while now, so suggesting that they are selling you something when they are in fact not could well be the next step for them in self-destruction.

overall, though, if the "exclusive" offer of the single with the album does not turn up, i would imagine it has everything to do with the Manics record label, and no notification being linked to the fact that HMV are not prepared to put on their website "sorry fans, but [an unspecified Japanese record label] are a right bunch of cunts and pulled the carpet from under us and you".

The Strip it Down video wasn't actually a promo video it was a TV performance (lip-synced), I forget the show, may of been Snub TV (before they did Motown Junk on there).

I got an email from HMV saying the deluxe, bonus disc has been shipped. Since I live in States I should get it by Tuesday or Wednesday.

Motown Junk was a TV recording also but is included as "promo".

I find it very hard to believe that TITD will be out as a single on the 7th with no promotion or talk about it

And I suspect that HMV have shipped the single on those pre-orders - this talk of the record company fucking them over has always read a little odd. I'm a big fan of HMV - their stores on the street are risible, but their online operation is excellent

Some of us will find out tomorrow....

their online operation is a shambles the times i've used it Was floored when i got that shipment email yesterday..wasn't expecting it till next week followed by an apology that it would be late
