The pre-show meetup suits me pretty well, might struggle to attend the aftershow, even though I would love to go but I'm staying at a Travelodge in the Docklands area, like a lot of people here, I am guessing!

I'm arriving into London Euston from Birmingham at around 1:30pm so I suppose instead of checking into my hotel, I can travel to Hammersmith for the meetup and then go to my hotel after I'm done to check-in and get ready for the gig!

How many here are going to the pre-show and/or aftershow? If anyone's staying at the same hotel or in the same area we could probably chip in for a taxi if you are up for that?

Could be a good reason to start a new thread for this?

Hmm, Hammersmith, that's a fair way from my crib, not so sure about that, I shall make as much effort as I can though. Me and the Manics and Hammersmith have history.

Seems like it would make a bit more sense to have some kind of pub meetup close to the O2. At least I expect that's what we'll be doing. Hammersmith is a way.

I actually have a question regarding this. Why is there the need to ''book'' a place? Why can't we just go to the nearest pub? Is there somekind of law against it? Will it be closing time?

Well I was meaning beforehand, I guess afterwards it will be more like a club night....with music and stuff. pubs would be busy and crowded.

The reason I've booked the place for the afternoon & night is because I'll be DJ'ing both times! I've done 30+ manics club nights as Manic Street Mania since 1999

Reason for location: nowhere else would let us have their venue between 2pm-6pm in the afternoon & after the gig until last orders with free entry. I would have had to have paid a deposit of up to £4000 elsewhere (average £1000)

I've got to take my own CD players/mixer too, all the way from Manchester.

Gonna be worth it though..

I think it should be cool after, but it's a fair way if you are staying next to the venue or close to the venue!

When is last orders? If the O2 show doesn't finish till 11, I doubt you'd make it to hammersmith for last orders?

To clarify, between 2pm and 6pm and after the gig till closing tome I will be DJ'ing and playing ONLY Manics tunes & related (Clash, SFA,Mansun,etc.etc.)

So it's not just a meet up, it's a manics clubnight thing (which I thought was obvious!!

most will stop serving food way earlier than 11!
