Best EMG non-single
Further to all the talk in the Interiors thread, I wondered what the consensus was amongst fans these days as to which is the best track which didn't get to be a single. I think years ago it would always have been NSAF and maybe Enola, but these days I'm not so sure.
I know Further Away was a single in Japan, but meh. So what do you think, and why?

I love all the songs in the poll but I voted for No Surface All Feeling. I have the feeling that it could be a great single and I love this so much!

NSAF is great live, but the highlight of the album for me is TGWWTBG.

It's mainly because the production really irks me, the song itself is good and I especially love the chorus. But for some reason Sean seems to have changed his drumkit into cereal boxes and the sound in that song particular is generally really weak and flimsy; it completely sucks the power from the song and damages the tune for me.

I really don't like Removable, Interiors and The Girl Who Wanted To Be God. They really just don't float my boat.
Small Black Flowers is one of my favourite Manics songs. The lyrics, although outwardly about animals in zoos, I find I can really identify with. I'm still seriously thinking about getting, 'here chewing your tail is joy' tattooed somewhere. Musically, the song is my favourite acoustic based Manics song. The minimalist sound in that drop G tuning just sounds beautiful when driven by powerful, emotive lyrics.

Small Black Flowers is the most overrated song in the Manics canon...well maybe after ME.
The only other single is Enola/Alone for me. |

I went for Further Away, love it. One of the more simple songs, easier to relate to. Shit scared of gettin old and accumulating regrets and forgetting shit. Think it's perfectly placed on the album too, love all the penultimate tracks.

Enola/Alone for me. The opening couple of chords on their own are worth it
